29 Weeks

Today, I'm 29 weeks pregnant! Only 11 more weeks (or 77 days) left to go. Since Denver is measuring ahead of schedule (and heavier than is normal around this time), the Dr. has briefly begun mentioning induction. My glucose test results are completely normal, so baby D is just a big baby. My Dr. doesn't want him to get up to 9 or 10 pounds so he said that he would monitor the way I feel and then do another ultrasound about 36-37 weeks to see if his weight/size has evened out of if he just continued to gain. If he's still really big, the Dr. wants to talk about inducing labor a bit early so that Denver doesn't get any bigger. D and I have talked about it somewhat, but are waiting to see what our options are before we get all worked up over it (I really don't want to be induced).

Anyhow, here are a few things that are going on this week...

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 29 Weeks Size of baby: Denver (should be) about the size of a small head of cabbage (17", 2.9 pounds). Last week, he was already measuring 3.5 pounds so we know that he's somewhat bigger. Total Weight Gain/Loss: +6 pounds Maternity Clothes: I haven't bought any. I've been wearing my regular clothes (the few things I can still fit into) and my Belly Band. It's a lifesaver! Gender: It's a boy! Denver Ray Fountain Movement: Denver is VERY active. I feel him most when I am laying back in the recliner or laying in bed. Although I feel him all day long, he is most active early in the morning (just an hour or so after I get up) and then again about 11 at night. Sleep: I'm sleeping well. My exhaustion is back, although it's not as bad as it was in the 1st trimester! What I miss: The occasional glass of wine or margarita! Cravings: Nothing really. Nothing sounds good - it's so hot! Symptoms: I've had some mild cramping and lower back cramps but more than anything I'm swelling like a blimp and the Dr. discovered that I have sciatica at my last appointment. I have horrible/sharp pain in my tailbone area that shoots down into the right side of my butt and down into the back of my right thigh. It's very, very painful especially when sitting, standing for very long, or getting up from a sitting position. Best moment this week: Darren seeing my belly jump when Denver really gets going!

Moms Rock!

I've been wanting some kind of "Moms Rock" or "Moms are Awesome" necklace for awhile - I thought I might wear it during my maternity pictures or even at my baby shower. The only problem was that all of the ones I saw were $65 or higher. I'm not spending that on a necklace.
I searched and searched until I came to this...

Isn't it adorable? I can't wait to wear it! The best part is... I only paid $25 for it and it came with earrings! Score! Visit Twisted M Western online to check out their stuff. They have some really great stuff and they are really reasonably priced. I'll post pics of me wearing it soon!

It's hot!

Do you ever remember it being this hot? I've lived in Texas my whole life. I was born in the summer, I love the summer and being outside but I have never in my life remembered it being THIS hot! I'm pretty much miserable!
This is me at 28 weeks (can you tell I was hot and exhausted)!
Everything is going well with Denver. He is a big boy already. He is measuring about 2 weeks ahead of schedule and at our 7 month check up they estimated that he already weighed 3.5 pounds. I've only gained 6 pounds so far, so it's not my fault! I've really been trying to watch it for both of our sakes. The Dr. thought that maybe it was due to gestational diabetes but my glucose tolerance test results came back and everything was normal, so that's not the case - he's just a big 'ol boy!
My blood pressure is always really good, but the one thing that the Dr. is not happy with is my swelling. I took fluid pills before getting pregnant because I've always had issues with retaining water (even if I drink a lot of water), but since I can't take the pills AND it's so hot - I have no ankles and my feet are huge. Attractive, huh? It's getting to where at the end of the day my toes don't even touch the floor and my feet just throb!
I come home every evening and sit in a recliner with my feet up which helps some, but not near enough. I'm ready for the summer to be over, for sure! D started putting Denver's changing table together tonight and this coming weekend we are (hoping) going to get the rest of his furniture put together. September will be here before we know it!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy (Expectant) Father's Day to my sweet husband! I hope you have a wonderful day! I can't wait for our baby boy to arrive so that I can see you two together - I know that you will be an amazing father! :)

On another note, I ordered something really cute for D for Father's Day, that he can wear when we go to the hospital...

I found it online at Daddy Scrubs and thought it would be a nice little gift for him. I want him to get noticed too - I know too often Daddy's get left out.

Hope all the other Father's out there have enjoyed their day!

Coco

I haven't been online much, but I did want to write down a couple of stories about Coco because they are so cute and I didn't want to forget them!

Coco loves blueberries - everytime I buy them, she gets so excited because she knows that she will get some. D has been on a blueberry kick lately and everyday when he eats some, Coco waits beside the refrigerator so she can get some too. Well, the other day was like any other and she waited beside the refrigerator, so he bent down and he gave her what was left - only 3 blueberries. She looked down at them and them up at him, and walked off. He kept calling her and trying to get her to come back and eat them. I think she was offended that she only got 3 lousy blueberries and decided that she didn't want any! He picked them all up and put them in her food bowl, with her dog food thinking she would eat them later. Well, later that evening when I was filling up her water, I looked at her food bowl and couldn't help but laugh! I called D into the kitchen and got him to look. That little girl had eaten EVERY morsel of her dog food and in the bottom of the bowl... 3 lousy little blueberries! :)

The other evening I was picking up the house and I started picking up Coco's toys from all over the house. There is a little basket by the fireplace that I keep them in (or try to anyway) when she isn't playing with them. I went around and gathered all of her toys and put them in her basket and then sat down to watch some tv. Since I was eating dinner, she wasn't allowed in my lap so she got up in the chair next to me and laid down. After a little while, she got down, went to her basket and sniffed around. After a minute or so, she grabbed her toys one by one and took them out of the basket until the basket was empty. She looked around a minute and then walked back over to the chair, got up in it and laid down. She didn't play with a single toy the whole night - she just didn't want them in that basket!

Isn't she a little stinker? I just adore my baby girl though. :)
