Today, I'm 29 weeks pregnant! Only 11 more weeks (or 77 days) left to go. Since Denver is measuring ahead of schedule (and heavier than is normal around this time), the Dr. has briefly begun mentioning induction. My glucose test results are completely normal, so baby D is just a big baby. My Dr. doesn't want him to get up to 9 or 10 pounds so he said that he would monitor the way I feel and then do another ultrasound about 36-37 weeks to see if his weight/size has evened out of if he just continued to gain. If he's still really big, the Dr. wants to talk about inducing labor a bit early so that Denver doesn't get any bigger. D and I have talked about it somewhat, but are waiting to see what our options are before we get all worked up over it (I really don't want to be induced).
Anyhow, here are a few things that are going on this week...
Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 29 Weeks Size of baby: Denver (should be) about the size of a small head of cabbage (17", 2.9 pounds). Last week, he was already measuring 3.5 pounds so we know that he's somewhat bigger. Total Weight Gain/Loss: +6 pounds Maternity Clothes: I haven't bought any. I've been wearing my regular clothes (the few things I can still fit into) and my Belly Band. It's a lifesaver! Gender: It's a boy! Denver Ray Fountain Movement: Denver is VERY active. I feel him most when I am laying back in the recliner or laying in bed. Although I feel him all day long, he is most active early in the morning (just an hour or so after I get up) and then again about 11 at night. Sleep: I'm sleeping well. My exhaustion is back, although it's not as bad as it was in the 1st trimester! What I miss: The occasional glass of wine or margarita! Cravings: Nothing really. Nothing sounds good - it's so hot! Symptoms: I've had some mild cramping and lower back cramps but more than anything I'm swelling like a blimp and the Dr. discovered that I have sciatica at my last appointment. I have horrible/sharp pain in my tailbone area that shoots down into the right side of my butt and down into the back of my right thigh. It's very, very painful especially when sitting, standing for very long, or getting up from a sitting position. Best moment this week: Darren seeing my belly jump when Denver really gets going!
